US Source for Tamiya Lacquer Paint?
Posted by cbaltrin on Thursday, October 28, 2021 6:53 AM

My local hobby shop has a limited selection of tamiya lacquer paint and I was able to pick up a few jars last night.. I tried the flat white and it air brushed extremely well--dried flat but extremely smooth. SB seems to have a limited selection as well... looking for  source that has entire range ...

Not being a wise guy but try a Google search if you haven't, might come up with some online shop or even an ebay search might find a shop.

Works for me sometimes

I went one step more for you and it looks like Spruebrothers has it.

Have you tried looking at Tamiya's website?

Amazon has plenty of colors of the spray lacquer, but is not good on the new bottles- very few colors.

Thanks jeffpez, this actually answered my question, a source with the entire range Toast

However, I stopped by my LHS today and they have restocked so I was able to pick up all the colors I was interested in. Thanks again nonetheless, I'll keep scalehobbyist in mind as a back up.

It's cheaper on ebay. Including shipping it's $5.49. You'll pay $2.34 more for the same thing at Scale Hobbyist after shipping. For lack of .16 cents you could buy an extra bottle......  that's almost half off.

Did you thin it or shoot it straight from the bottle?

All Tamiya paints need to be thinned with their specified thinner.

But, I use Mr Hobby Levelling Thinner for Tamiya Acrylic and Lacquer with a ratio of 1:1.

And it works perfectly shooting from my Iwata TR with a 0.5 needle @ 20psi. Or using Iwata HP-Th with 0.5 neddle if I want a wider spread @ 22psi
