Tamiya spray paint
Posted by flyerduke on Friday, October 29, 2021 7:34 PM

I recently purchased the Tamiya P-38 F/G kit.  It calls for quite a few parts to be painted AS-12 bare-metal silver.  Would this be aluminium?  I have several jars of aluminium I could use with my airbrush.  Or do I need to buy the rattle can paint?  Thanks.

Any aluminum will do.

The nice thing about Alclad is that they offer three shades of aluminum, varying from polished aluminum to weathered aluminum.  You can make it anything from a museum plane to a war weary one.

You never have to follow the paint suggestions in the instructions. Best to undrstand what the actual part you are painting looked like in real life then take it from there...

Good tips here... Remember - those are instructions and not gospel!
