Airbrush Comparison
Posted by jimz66 on Monday, April 19, 2004 8:38 PM
I just went to an aritst supply store today, I found two airbrushes I have heard a lot about but never seen in person. I was able to hold both in my hand and could not believe how much heavier they were compared to my Aztecs. I have been fearful of all those metal parts for a long time now after. I was taken aback how heavy the Badger 150 and the Pasche VL were. I couldn't beilive they were so heavy, and that was with nothing attached to them and no paint in them. Just my My 2 cents [2c]

In my opinion I have found that I can spray a straighter line with a heavier airbrush than a lighter one. The weight of the heavier AB absorbs small movements. Think of it with a car analogy. On a straight highway a small, lighter, car jiggles on bumps on the road and a larger, heavier, car glides across the same road. Although a heavier airbrush might seem slightly heavier, in action, that airbrush has momentium, a built in shock absorber in its weight, and will help draw a straighter line.

You just have to get used to a heavier airbrush. It only takes a minute.
