He does, but usually it's in the guise of one of the cats or one of Claire's kids. It'll turn up soon Chris.

well josh, i have an alternate plan if it dont show up. all im missing is the exhaust nozzle, the pointy thing on the nose, and the ordinance. i can make the pointy thing from stretched sprue, buy the after market ordinance and nozzle, and i'll be home free. i finally got the cammo scheme close to just right and was on the home stretch too.Disapprove [V]
oh well, i'll live. later.

There were some threads pointed out to me on the armor forum pertaining to lost PE parts that had me howling.

My contention is that the liklihood of losing a part is exponentially proportional to its importance and the difficulty in "Faking" one. You will never lose small parts that can easily be made, but give me one that would be hard to fake and it will be lost forever.

In your case I think it's possible that Mike's California Gremlins may have migrated southeast!

Good luck finding it, like I always tell myself while hunting for something, "It HAS to be here SOMWHERE!"

So THAT'S where Mr Murphy's been, I was wondering, since I hadn't seen or heard from him here "on the job." I guess it's just a matter of time before he comes back this way. Seems like no matter what precautions I take, he finds a way to "borrow" some of my kit's parts. I wonder if there's a pile of model parts right next to all the socks that disappear out of my dryer???

I always have to tell myself "It didn't just get up and walk away" though with 3 kids and a cat in the house, it may have gotten a free ride somewhere.

Jeeez, Ausf. I'll say it again, you armor guys are WEIRD!Big Smile [:D] That is another good one though, thanks for passing it along.

Now, with the exception of Chris here, we airplane guys never lose anything. We always know where everything is, we always have everything in order, everything works perfectly. Then we wake up and realize it was all just a dream!

Forgot to mention ... my wife got a new vacuum cleaner Saturday. It's one of the bagless kind and has a big, clear canister to hold all the dust and dirt. While she was trying it ont (on my room, of course!) I sat there watching and thought to myself, "Yep, there goes that PE seatbelt buckle I lost last month, and there's that wing tip light that disappeared, etc." It's funny how you can see that stuff flying around inside the vacuum cleaner but it is totally invisible on the floor. Of course, I didn't even bother to try and dig it out of the vacuum, it would just have disappeared again. Murphy at work once again!

That's what makes it so funny and hard to believe! Tongue [:P] And we are in awe of your abilities! Not everybody can lose the whole box! Whistling [:-^] I, for one, am truly impressed.

I usually try to "be the box" but with limited success (it works a little better with a dropped or propelled part and somewhat better with eye glasses). You could try offering a reward, but that might result in further "losses"...

Therefore, if the importance of a given peice reaches some point, where the graph of importance, vs difficulty in construction creaches a plateau, statistically, this is where we can find our dear Mr. Murphy.

Precisely! I never thought about it like that, but you are exactly right. All you have to do, SaltyDog, is to not worry about where that kit it, and you will find it! Probably the day after you get all the replacement parts!

Well saltydog we have all tried it. But what kit is it ( 1/48 or 1/72 or maybe even 1/32, is it Hasegawa, Italieri or what ) I have a scrap F-16A from Hasegawa in 1/48, so I have a spare nozzle and "pointy thing" ( pitot tube ). There is just one problem.......I live across the Atlantic, in Denmark. The shipping costs would make it some very expensive replacements.

Well, I've probably some extra ordnance on my Thud I'm not gonna use. Might be a little out of date for a 16 though since it's an early 70's bird. Might be a little big to since mine's 1/32 scale. We can probably scrounge you enough to get it flying.

hey, HEY, hey!!! just found my side snap on duma-flotchy for my oakley's!!!! atleast i can go to work tomorrow without going blind!! scott, i think i'll just order the aftermarket exhaust nozzle, armament set, and i did find the pitot tube on the lone sprue tree that i do still have intact. i can go ahead and finish the model and add those items when they get here. i have some ordinance in 1/48 that are for an A-4 skyhawk and the external fuel tanks look to be a close match. we've turned the house upside down and still no box. what a mystery!! ol' murphy should post some of his builds!! i bet he has some wing-dingers. later.

ps. hey scott, i have a brother-in-law that lives in Columbia just south of nashville. we're up that way about every 3 or 4 months. we visited the nashville zoo the last trip and ate at the spegetti factory just across the river from the titans stadium. ever ate there? later.

Chris,

Since that is an Israeli Falcon would it be right to put U.S. weapons on it?
I believe Israel uses their own weapons.
Does someone sell Israeli weapons for these kits?

Yep, it's a great place to eat. They have another store downtown (or at least used to) that was right across the street from where I used to work. Used to eat there all the time.

Nashville Zoo is about a mile from my house :) I'm embarassed to say that I've never been there. Buy, hey, I've never been to the Grand Ole' Opry (or the Country Music Hall Of Fame) either.

Next time you get up this way, give me a shout.
