Confusing Tamiya VW Painting Instructions & how to attach photo
Posted by Ed Geary on Friday, June 24, 2022 6:54 AM

I'm getting ready to start painting the parts of a Tamiya 1966 VW Bug.

On Page 5 of the instructions, the recommended paint colors are given as ratios.

Would someone please explain to me what they mean?

For instance the XF-55 :1 + x-2 : 5.

xf-55 is deck tan and x-2 is white

I have chosen Sea Blue as my body color.

I am trying to figure out how to attach a JPEG copy of page 5, but can't seem to figure out how do do that

Thanks

Doesn't that mean

1 part X-55

5 parts X-2

That's how I read it

As far as attaching a photo, you need to use a photo hosting web site, then you attach the file from the site using the chain icon above.

There are some detailed tutorials around the site.

Oh!

It is telling me to mix 2 paint colors together to create a third color?

Strange.

Thanks for the reply!

I hate mixing paints,I usually look for a manufacturer that has the color or something close.
