I too use mineral spirits/turpentine. The synthetic/green stuff has a milky residue suspended in it. Problem is, it is often sold in metal cans so you cannot see it. But if it says "mineral spirits" or "turpentine" it is good.
Me, too, lacquer thinner. Not just after enamels, either, but for general cleaning.

All I've ever used to clean up spray tools after enamel is lacquer thinner. That's both in full size guns for 1/1 or airbrush equipment. There is a good argument for acetone as well.

For enamels and lacquers, I use MEK to clean my airbrush parts. I have a Paasche H airbrush.
