Here's what I'm using.  Its quiet and reliable, and has everything you need to start airbrushing right out of the box.

I use an Iwata Smart Jet. Can't hear it and it runs even my high flow siphon feed brush. You can find them on sale from time to time. I've also heard some of the Harbor Freight ones are pretty good also.

I use two compressors, one for the garage and the other for my house hobby shop. Both California Air Tools, I'm completely happy with them both.

First I bought the large twin cylinder about 12 or so years ago, model number 1610-A. Hundreds of hours in use, zero issues, works like new.

For the house hobby area during winter I bought the single cylinder model   1P1060-S, same reliability.

The larger compressor is huge overkill for my modeling use, the single cylinder has all of the capacity I will ever need and more.

Enthusiastic recommendation for the brand from me. A few bucks more up front, but so well worth it long term.

I'll throw my usual pitch for CO2.  Zero noise, no condensation, pretty cheap and very consistant.

Thanks,

John

This replaced my Master tankless.  It's very quiet.  It sits on the floor so I like the top mounted regulator.  A bit pricey though.  Can be had for a little less elsewhere.

Just my $.02.

I purchased my Badger TC910 Aspire back in January of 2016 and it has been perfect for me. When I purchased it, I was in an upstairs apartment so I needed it quiet for both the neghbor below me, and my sleeping wife in the next room. I never received any complaints. The only thing I had to do was put a bit of tape around the air release valve. It rattled against the case. I could have jsut removed the ring, since ive never once had to actually use it haha

I'm probably getting this one myself by Point Zero, to put inside a lower cabinet at my new work station. I have my large 8 gal houshold compressor I've used for years but want to set up this permenant airbrushing and modeling area. Anyway, this should be a link to the photo at Amazon, it's twin cylinder with a tank 59db:

Hmmm, well that link was a bust ! Anyway Point Zero twin cylinder, 1 gal tank, quiet 59 db. It's at Amazon for $117.

Did you mean this one? This looks like the same exact compressor as mine mentioned above just without the exterior case.
