Have a look at Tamiya TS-54 or TS-19.  I think TS-19 is probably close to what you're looking for.

Thanks for the feedback, although I would pick TS-54 as it has a lighter tone than the TS-19.

Best Tamiya paint lookalike to Acapulco Blue?
Posted by Teenage Modeler on Monday, June 5, 2023 10:30 AM

Hello, guys and gals. I am currently making an AMT 1968 Shelby Cobra GT500. Things are going very good so far, and I am planning to paint the body of the Cobra Acapulco Blue, because I feel that when people think Mustang, they think this color. It's a very beautiful paint color in my opinion.

So my questiong is, what is an approximate Tamiya color for this paint? I am not just strictly looking from Tamiya, some brands in fact make this exact color (Model Master, Gravity Colors, and MCW Finishes).

I feel that I can mix my own colors to make this exact shade of blue, as it is the easiest (I have all the paints to make this color). I could mix some Tamiya X-4 Blue, some X-11 Chrome Silver, and X-2 White.

This is my take to it, although I could order some paint that have closer resemblance.

Tamiya makes TS-50 Mica Blue paint that people use to paint on the AC Cobra, but in my opinion, it's too deep of a blue.

Do you guys have any suggestions? I am open to some other ideas.
