Hi Ya'll!
Listen, just a wee small tip today. When you build those 1/700 and up to 1/200 ships how do you prevent the colors at the base of Bulkheads and Decks from bleeding together? The answer is something I have been doing for years. When the parts are ready to paint and you have a molded on deck structure or detail. Don't cut it off!
When parts are molded there is a cross section at the junction that is rounded to allow the part to release from the mold when pushed. It's this rounded area you must get rid of! How, The good old number-11 X-Acto blade to the rescue. Laying it flat on the deck or bulkhead,(Your Choice) and depending on how steady you are.Slide the tip of the blade,Remember! Flat to the Surface.
Work the deck first and around those molded on details. Then make a groove(very slight) between the two surfaces. (Horizontal and Vertical) This acts as a stop. Let this paint(Bulkheads or Decks) Dry Well, BEFORE applying the other color and make sure it's Not as hot, (Thinner Wise) as what you've already painted. Problem solved !! T.B.
