How to airbrush Tamiya X-2 Gloss White?

Ooh, I think you actually wanted to paint the white first.  Then, tape it off and spray the body color.  You may have to tape the area off where you want the stripes and first hit it with a light primer.  But since you're already there, go ahead and try the white by itself, first.  It may take a couple of coats.  Shoot the paint until it just gets glossy and stop.

Also, start off with flat white, as it covers better than gloss white.  Then go over the flat white with gloss white.  Tamiya's white primer is great for this.

Yeah whenever I have found myself in the situation of having to put white or light colors over dark then I as well, after masking put down a light coat or two of a light primer then the paint. I had to do yellow over black one time and that's how I did it. Works out fine as long as you don't get heavy handed about the primer.

Yeah, Tamiya white primer under any white will make that white practically glow. If you do t have that, then most any flat white undercoat will make your gloss white look bpetter. But the Tamiya white primer kicks it up several notches.

Alright then, here's my plan.

I will spray some Tamiya X22 Gloss Clear on top of the painted area in order to prevent paint from bleeding through the tape, then I'll spray Tamiya Flat White ontop of it as you said, which will help the stripes get better coverage.
