Noob to airbrushing
Posted by tread684 on Thursday, February 1, 2024 8:52 AM

Well after doing a couple searches of the forum looks like most results for nylon aren't the answers I am looking for... lol

I am putting together an in home nylon airline from my dewalt contractor compressor in the garage (keeping the noise out of the house) to a hobby station across the house in the basement. I plan on using the air for hobby airbrushing (0.8 SCFM) at 40 psi.

110 - 120' of total tubing, at 110 psi with a few 90 degree elbows, couplings, dryer then regulator down to 20-30psi, finally the airbrush (possibly one last dryer before the gun).

Can I comfortably use 1/4" OD nylon or do I need to go with 3/8" OD?

Thanks!

I'd run 3/8 over the long run, then 1/4 at the bench. With .8 cfm it may not even matter but that would be my choice, especially given you have the 90 elbows in there.
