Unfortunately, the article is outdated because they use the old Aeromaster line of paints as reference which is now out of production.

White Ensign has a line of Japanese colors and has Ame-Hiro premixed. Floquil Old Concrete is a good out of the bottle match.

Tamiya Deck tan is probably a little too light.

Hello chap
As for Japanese paints, go take a look at http://j-aircraft.com ; among others, there is a review of model colours compared to the numerous (original) paint denominations, and also a specific article on ame-iro.

Thank you all for coming José

I've found that a decent match to the IJN "Ame-Hiro" is Tamiya Deck Tan-XF-55. Maybe only add a touch of green. Any other thoughts?
