C02 for airbrushing
Posted by Anonymous on Tuesday, April 1, 2003 2:38 PM
I'm wondering what peoples thoughts are on using 20 lb/ C02 bottles for doing airbrushing. It will cost $20.00 to have it filled. Anyone have any idea how long that would last?? I don't really have the cash at the moment to buy a compressor. When I do have the money, any suggestions on good compressors? Thanks for any replies!

If you decide to use these bottles make sure that you pick up a regulator to control the amount of pressure you are sending to your airbrush. I have heard of a number of people succesfully using this arrangement but have no idea about how long it will last you. I would suspect quite a while. As far as purchasing a compressor, my only suggestion would be not to limit yourself to one that is designed for hobby work. Check out any major hardware stores or if you are in the U.S....Walmart. I just purchased one for $139 Canadian from a hardware store complete with regulator. Another $10 for a moisture trap and I was off and running.
