Canopy painting

I would like to ask everyone here who are into WWII aircraft. Do you paint the inside and outside of the canopy or only the outside. Also, do you hand paint it or did you use your airbrush?

Painting the interior framing on WWII canopies is just too much of a good thing for me. I usually mask the canopy and then spray it with the interior color first, using an AB, then spray the exterior color. The interior color shows through the clear plastic and makes it appear as though the interior framing was painted. However, I build most of mine with closed canopies. If you have one open, say on a Bf-109 or P-51B, the effect isn't as realistic as some might demand.

I build most of mine with the canopies open, and so far they have all be sliding canopies so I don't worry about what the inside canopy lines look like. In fact I had never even though about the inside canopy lines. rjkplasticmod's idea is a very good one.

To answer your question, I paint the canopy lines on the outside and always mask and airbrush them. I just can't keep the lines straight enough to paint them by hand without masking, and if I'm going to mask them I might as well just airbrush them.

Have you ever tried to paint inside the cockpit?
Me usually paint all the gauges in the cockpit using some photos and both sides of the canopy. It looks better to me.
Do you guys glue the canopy?
