Future over Model Master Metalizer?
Posted by MikeV on Saturday, May 8, 2004 7:15 PM
Last night I sprayed Model Master Magnesium Metalizer on the rear areas of my F-15E and it came out pretty good. My question is: Do I now spray Future over the Metalizer areas also after decaling? If not, do I have to somehow mask those areas off? I knoe Metalizer does not handle masking very well so I am curious as to how you go about this?

Thanks

Mike

I dont know about metalizer, but for alclad, you dont need to.

Personally, i dont think you need to future, cause you already have a shiny surface from the metal. Also, on my p 51, I didn't future it, but the decal adhesive took its toll.

1337,

I know I don't need to put Future over it but since I have to spray the entire plane after decaling to seal it from the panel line wash I would need to somehow protect that area also and I wonder if Future will make the Metalizer look bad?

Ah... try liquid masks, or parafilm.
Edit: forgot to mention, try to use wet tissues over it.

I would suggest using Model Master Metalizer Sealer rather than Future. I have tried both and I like the Sealer look better.
