Airbrushing wash
Posted by knight667 on Tuesday, May 11, 2004 10:12 AM
So I've read Swanny's article on Weathering (thanks Swanny!), but I was thinking of doing an overall airbrushed thinned flat-black wash on some of my aircraft. Not sure if that'll do more harm than good, I was kinda curious if anyone else has tried this, and if so, what were the results.

For panel lines, I was going to use black artists ink (read an article somewhere that that works well).

Any advice/info is most appreciated!

i've never heard of doing that knight but i have primed a model with flat black. also, ive done some post shading with very thinned lightened and darkened base color that gave my subject a faded, splotchy kinda chalky look which looked cool on a WWII aircraft. good luck if you decide to try it and keep us posted. later.
