Actually, for kicks I painted a door on a 1:24 '99 Ford Mustang with the silver sharpie. Only problem is that the felt tip tended to catch and fray pretty easy. Other problem was as it [tip] softens up, it does not distribute the ink evenly. So you get color contrast stripe-ing. It worked great on speaker grill detailing though! As far as your bird, well you can get back to me on how it turns out. Big Smile [:D]

Can I paint my entire B-36 with them? I should do that and then post the pictures. LOL!

I have a few of the Testor paint pens I got for birthdays, christmas, etc but I never like the feel of them. I thought the tip was a little too wide for the touch up work I tired them on. And I never thought the paint flowed well enough to use on a larger coverage area.

What i do like the Sharpie Silver ink marker. It looks similar to a shinny aluminum. I use it often for touchups and small area detailing. I have used it to simulate paint chips on aircraft wings & props.

Hey gdarwin,
I use paint pens and silver leafing pens sometimes for touch up from sprue cut off points. Yet only if it allows it if there is lots of flash and stuff I can't touch up I use BMF!!!! I like them quite a bit actually. Very handy and I suggest everyone have one around. I have one that I got at hobby lobby, that has silver on one side and goldish brass on the other for $2.50 (about?) Happy Modeling!!! Wink [;)]
Cheers!!!! Smile [:)]Big Smile [:D]Cool [8D]
