Mail order paint store in Britain
Posted by Anonymous on Wednesday, May 26, 2004 6:50 AM
I'm totally new to modelling, apart from my disasterous attempts with ertl kits as a kid. I'm looking for a store in the UK with an extensive selection of paints, I wondered if anyone knew of a place? I guess, if needs be, I could order from the US or somewhere, but I'd rather not have to pay the extra for import.

Thanks very much for your help

StooJ welcome to the Forum.

You might want to try the following:

They stock the Gunze acrylic range, which is excellent, and only a pound a pot.

Thanks very much for all your help, folks. It looks like I'm going to have to use a bit of poetic licence, I'm having trouble matching the exact colours of my model with what is available to buy. However, it looks like White Ensign is my best bet so far. Drawing a blank at things like SAC Bomber Green.

--edit--

Ok, managed to get nearly all that I was looking for from White Ensign and a shop in Edinburgh: wonderlandmodels.com
Thanks for all your help folks. I'll keep an eye out for the other couple - if anyone knows where I can get my hands on some gloss red and SAC Bomber green, it would be much appreciated.

Try Hannants range of Xtracolour paints, I think the colour you`re looking for is X118 SAC Blue/Green. These are enamels, just like White Ensign paints.
Hannants also stock Poly Scale acylics. Take your pick for the gloss red, plenty to choose from
