Compresser guage Question
Posted by rebelreenactor on Saturday, June 5, 2004 5:40 PM
Im not sure what compressor i have (i know it is a silver aztek, with a red part on top and a gauge) I proubably sound really dumb. anyways.....

If i want to spray a model at lets say 40 PSI, ill set the red needl on 40. But when ever i spray it the needl drops to about 10-20 psi. Is this normal? or is there a leak somewhere?

thanks for the help!!

The spraying pressure is lower, so spray air out of the brush, and see how much the needle goes down, and move the needle above 40psi the same amount (Correct me if i'm wrong)

John,

Yes that is normal for small compressors with no air tank.

John,

You can make one from a fire extenguisher bottle or just buy a small one from a hardware store. They are not too expensive and usually run around $30 or so.
It would be nice to have one about 2 or 3 gallons as the bigger ones are not really needed for your purposes.
