Choices of paint
Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, June 13, 2004 4:11 PM
Hi all, I was talking to a local hobby shop about paint. I currently use Tamiya and am very happy with them. The salesman was telling me about Life Color paints. I had never heard of them. I was wondering if anyone has used them, and what the results were compared to Tamiya.

Thanks

Life Color are italian paints that are thinned exclusively with water or their own thinner so take care not to mix with alcohol; no, better said: try everything you want, just take care not to try directly into your airbrush as it is vinylic acrylic paint and it tends to clog with alcohol; by the way, I've heard of another thinner but I can't remember right now. As far as range is concerned, it is rather reasonable and they tend to approximate tints to FS as close as possible. As far as ease of use and accuracy are concerned, it is very subjective so this is up to you. As for reference, their site is http://www.astromodel.it ; go see it and you'll equally see other products, as Astro Models.

Thank you all for coming José
