computer case fans for spraybooth?
Posted by Anonymous on Tuesday, June 15, 2004 5:18 PM
Just wanted to see if using these to exhaust a paint booth would be ok. I know most if not all of them are brushless, and im pretty sure that is what is needed for a spray booth.

I fear those fans should be a lot weaker than necessary. They are not supposed to extract particles, only warm ( hot ? ) air.

Thank you all for coming José

I agree with Jose.
They are very underpowered.

They are cheap, and they do move a good bit of air. If you can find 3 or 4 of them at a cheap price that might work. I don't think you'll get the volume of a good centrifugal blower though.

You could get some 120mm Delta fans. They can move probably 100-ish or more CFM, but they are loud as hell.

I figured you would probably need more than one, I have seen them for extremely cheap on ebay. But it also seems like it might be pain to get ducting hooked up to 2 or more fans. It was just an idea I got after I was at CompUsa.
