air compressor question

Can't speak personally about the Husky model, but i was in the same limited funds boat as you. If you have a Walmart around you they carry a Campell Hausfeld compressor At the same or maybe cheaper price.
It is a 2 gallon tank. Comes with a pressure regulator that you can set from 0-max and an assortment of adapters and rates at 100 psi. For an extra 9 bucks you can get a moisture trap if you may need one.
It is very quiet. I have had 2 and 3 am paint sessions and have yet to wake up the houshold.

Those types of "General Purpose" compressors will work just fine for an airbrush. They are a bit of overkill for that purpose in that they have far more pressure and flow than you will ever use airbrushing and some of them (mine included!) are very noisy. The advantage is, as you noticed, that they can be used for many other chores. The disadvantage is that they are noisy.

Mine is a Porter-Cable that I got at Lowes for around $100. It has a 6 gallon tank and does everything I want from a compressor. I added a moisture trap (Critical for airbrushing) for around $20 and a remote regulator at my workbench and am very satisfied with my setup. I run it down to about 10-15 psi for painting.

Me and my old man bought that Easy Air Husky about 6 months ago. The 1.5 gallon tank with a Maxium psi of 135!!! It's a great!!!! It's lightweight, portable and isn't loud at all!! (Compared to all the other ones you barely notice when it's on!!! We looked at a bunch too and turned all of them on !!) I would pick it up right away!!! You will have to pick up the moisture trap too though. I think that was around $12.00. Everything else you need (minus the AirBrush) is in the box. I hope this helps!!! Good Luck!!!!Cheers, Mate!!!!!

P.S. For that size it's the best PSI your going to get too!!! For example the next Husky size up was 2 gallons, but the Max PSI was only 120 or 125. And it was so loud when you turned it on and just way to bulky!!!! The easy air was the most powerful for the best price out of all the AB compressors in the 5 or so LHS in Austin, Lowes, Home Depot, Sears and micro-mark's catalog!!!! Bye Now!!!!

Warlock........the Campbell Hausfeld compressor you have....is it easy to hook up an airbrush hose to it, or do you need adaptors? That compressor looks like exactly what I am looking for...I will have to pick up the moisture trap, but no biggie...just curious if anyone else has this compressor and their thoughts.........

The hose that comes with the A/B( I use an Aztec A470) screws right onto the hose that comes with the compressor with the compressor adapter that comes with it.
This gives you the length of the A/B hose and compressor hose as well.
