Venting for spray booth....possible solution?

I was at the local hardward store trying to get ideas for construction of a spray booth. I found this item for about $35 and was wondering if this would work for a spray booth. Any suggestions by the experts would be great!

I'm no expert by a long shot, but that device is designed as a supply fan and what you want for a spray booth is an exhaust fan. That fan will most likely have an opening on the side to let air in, and it blows air out the side that is on the top in the picture. An exhaust fan would pull air in through the opening on top in the picture and blow it out through an exhaust opening that is usually flanged so you can connect an exhaust hose or duct. You could make it work, but you'd have to do a lot of duct fabrication.

Big Smile [:D]yeah....me too.....what MusicCity said........

.............my old boothe used a 475 CFM exhaust fan on top of an evacuation chamber that fit on top of the spray chamber.......and though enormous (32"x30"x30" ID of spray chamber) there wasn't much i couldn't AB and with the evacuation chamber between the fan and the spray chamber.........all air was drawn up evenly through a filter with no adverse consequences or noticeable uneven air flow.........sadly it was too big to ship here so, i donated it to a good cause.......Sad [:(]
