you put the nozzle of the can into the straw, on one end, and you spray into the straw, it acts like... erm... a straw

They are great airbrushes and you will love it. Mine is capable of much better work than I am.

QUOTE: I heard somewhere that you can use the paint in spray cans in airbrushes, how does that work

Just spray it out into a bottle and pour it into the airbrush. No need to thin it since it is already thinned for use in the cans. Be aware that it is messy and can blow paint everywhere if you aren't careful. I've heard that some people spray it through a straw but I'm not exactly sure how they do that.

Cheech, great to hear of another Omni 4000 convert.

I've been using mine now for a couple of months and love it.

Congrats man.... BADGER!! The canned paint thats been talked about that I know of is Krylon. The Gloss Black can be decated into a smaller container and airbrushed... no thinning needed. It's used as a base coat to apply Alclad II over. Go to Swanny's site and read "the secret life of Aclad II". Good stuff.

It is a great airbrush, very well balanced in my hand. I had an old model laying around so I tried mixing some paint, although my mixing needs help it sprayed beautifully and very smooth. I heard somewhere that you can use the paint in spray cans in airbrushes, how does that work, I have some old cans of paint laying around that need to be used up. Thank you for everyones help in my airbrush decision, I am very happy with my brush, I hope to get many years of great use out of it and maybe pass it on to my son when he's old enough.
