WW II Russian Colors
Posted by Anonymous on Friday, July 30, 2004 9:25 AM
I never work in 1/72, but I came across a couple of fine little models of Russian fighters in this scale (I-15 and Yak-9) for $1.99 each on sale. To the point, my only reference is for the Yak, a whole bunch of color profiles in the fine Brit magazine Scale Aircraft Modelling. And the colors they use are in no way realistic-looking, For example, the undersurface color is a blue much like a dark PRU blue, and I know that can't be right.
The colors are listed using a system that has the prefix "LST" before the number of the color, and I am totally unfamiliar with this system. Does anyone have a link that gives cross-matches for these colors? I'd really appreciate any help you can give me.
