                        Hi Darren,

                        Thanks, mate, for the feedback and averting me from possible disaster. I guess I'll have to look elsewhere, maybe an art shop, for masking liquid. Anyway, I think the Gunze stuff is water-based, judging from the smell, so I guess it can be thinned with water or alcohol, but I'd rather get something more reliable. Thanks a mil for the help and good luck to your modelling!

                        I have a bottle of Gunze Sangyo Mr Masking Sol and I was most unimpressed with it. You are absolutely right in saying that it is thick and rough and no amount of stirring seemed to make any difference. I used it twice and really didn't like it, so I've stuck to Humbrol Maskol ever since.

                        I didn't try thinning it with Mr Thinner so I have no idea what the result would be there.

                        Hi guys,

                        I ran out of MicroScale Liquid Mask and so went to LHS to get another bottle. Unfortunately, they were fresh out of it and would restock in 2-3 weeks. The only liquid mask that they have left is the Gunze Sangyo Mr. Masking Sol. I opened one to take a peek (with permission from the store clerk Wink [;)]) and its texture seems thicker and rougher than MicroScale's, which is smooth and gel-like. There were even blue "grains" in the solution which I'm not sure whether they are still-undissolved particles or not. Anyone know how good this stuff is? Will it be a smooth solution once stirred properly? How do you thin it? Sorry for the questions but the info and instructions in the bottle are all in Japanese except for the product name (!). I'd appreciate all info that you can give me about this stuff.
