Posted by dubix88 on Thursday, August 12, 2004 7:31 PM
HEY,
I was at my LHS for the first time i awhile and i saw a few bottles of MM paint that said"for airbrushes only". Does this mean it is already thinned or something? Just wonderin cuz im kinda confused. Thanks in advance.

MM makes some laquer metalizers that are marked as "Airbrush Only" but I haven't seen any of their regular paint marked that way (doesn't mean that it doesn't exist, just that I haven't seen any). The metalizers are already thinned and I really don't think you'd get a decent finish with a brush anyway. Metalizers need a nice, even coat to work right.

The ones I have say they are a metalizer lacquer (non buffing) and contain butyl acetate not sure what that is. I use them mainly for small parts or when Im feeling lazy (great for gear or other 1 piece parts) and dont feel like priming and waiting for it to dry for alclad2.
