My wife *really* loves me!

Big Smile [:D] So I mentioned last week that my wife was buying me a compressor from Harbor Freight for my birthday, and it got here Wednesday (day before yesterday). Well, it's a mutant, and has a 1/8" NPT fitting on the compressor itself, where the standard size is 1/4" NPT (I mentioned this in another post). Rather than try and fight with multiple adapters, etc., she opted to buy me a brand new Paasche D500SR compressor from the LHS (I got to pick it out), along with a new Paasche H airbrush!!!!!

When I asked her if she was sure, she said, "Of course, I like contributing to your delinquency. Besides, you enjoy it so much, why not?" Is she awesome or what?!?

Tried it out last night, and other than my paint being too thick (my fault), they both work like a dream!

Just thought I'd share the joy! Big Smile [:D]

You do have a great wife. My GF complains about how much time and money I spend on models. I told her it's cheaper than golfing, woodworking drinking in a sports bar, or gambling. I also told her at least I'm home and our kids are taking an interest in it as well. Its better than sitting in front of the TV for hours on end.

Isn't that the truth! My other vice (video games) at least has me in the same room with her when I'm immersed in those.

Sounds like your wife is on good terms with your hobby and is supportive of something you enjoy doing, can't ask for more than that. I'm lucky enough to have a similarly understanding spouse...she's even getting to the point where she can recognize certain things in what I'm building by name instead of saying "nice thingy you've got there" Big Smile [:D].

My wife is always interested when I'm talking about my models, even when I know she's bored out of her mind. Big Smile [:D] I in turn try to be interested when she's discussing her hobbies. Give and take, that's what it's all about.

Heck...not only is my wife supportive-- she even built one to be with me when I was building...and I am not ashamed to say that her first looks better than my 15th!!

Course, she also bought me a huge 7 foot display case for my models a couple years back and my Badger 360 last Christmas-- she is truly awesome!

Cool, it's good to hear there are some good women out there.

My wife is the same way. She enjoys each section of the build, coming in to see how far I have gotten now and then. She even wanted to get into it awhile back... problem was she argued with me that starting on a skill level 2 Testors was too simple, she wanted to get one like the ones I build. She did all the prep work on it and painted the interior, then got frustrated trying to assemble the cockpit and quit. 6 months later I got it out and put it together for her and even though she doesn't like it, I call it "her" model.

Today she was trying to talk me into getting an Iwata at the LHS, even though I am not ready to buy my next brush yet, it's nice knowing I can get what I want without talk about "money" etc...

Of course her hobby is a little more active than mine... she goes to Karate 6 days a week... but we each have our own thing that we share with the other.
