gunney, there is this stuff at your local hardware store, in the "pipe fitters" section called SNJ Metal, it comes in both spray and powder form, the powder rubs on with a cloth.. or you can use a Q-Tip for small area, anyway.... if you make a mistake the stuff comes right off with water, haven't used it in a long long time but i know it works VERY well, and it looks better than any silver paint I ever used.
In fact I learned about it from FSM many years agothey showed a guy working on an F86
, what he did was sprayed on a coat of gloss clear coat. and just before it dried and the paint was still tacky.. rubbed in the SNJ Metal powder.. came out like a mirror finish nearly... then seal it with another clear coat......it won't run as long as you seal it VERY lightly....
