technical question about Iwata fittings
Posted by Anonymous on Friday, September 3, 2004 9:02 AM
I've just got a new Iwata but it doesn't connect to my compressor. my compressor is a cheap 'no name' brand. I think i will have to make my own adaptor. can anyone help by telling me the exact type of thread on the inside of an iwata hose?

On the compressor side of the Iwata air hose is 1/4" npt female, but you should probably be aiming to adapt to 1/4" closer to the compressor. Your airbrush line already fits airbrush regulator/gauge/moisture traps. Somewhere between the compressor and the regulator is where to put the adapter to get things to the 1/4" size.

maybe it's a 1/4 npt female on the compressor too... in that case you need to buy a 1/4 npt male-male adaptor
