Getting Future to even out better?
Posted by MikeV on Monday, September 6, 2004 1:30 PM
I mentioned this in another topic and thought this might be a subject that we all might learn something from.
Have you experimented with adding things to Future in the airbrush to allow it to flow better and minimize the pebble surface that is so common with many people spraying it?
I have not experimented with it yet but I thought it might be interesting to try adding retarder to it, or maybe a drop or two of dishwashing liquid to break the surface tension a little and possibly cause it to smooth out better.
Maybe thinning it a tad with Windex or something else may also help, I am not sure.
Have any of you played around with these additives?
What did you find?

Mike

Wisdom is the right use of knowledge. To know is not to be wise. Many men know a great deal, and are all the greater fools for it. There is no fool so great a fool as a knowing fool. But to know how to use knowledge is to have wisdom. " Charles Spurgeon

I thought that you're supposed to let it go on rough/bumpy/dusty and it will level itself out? I don't use Future, so I don't know. I have a bottle. I have only experimented with it.

I tried adding just a few drops of water the other day just experimenting and it seemd to flow well and even out well too... (about a 1/2 oz of future, 4 or so drops of water I guess was my mixture.)

I have tried windex 2 times, and I wont do it again. When I used solvaset for decals the future started to peel the paint off. So dont use windex!

I haven't tried either liquid detergent or windex, but Swanny recommends both on his website, also 80% rubbing alcohol.
