I've done it a few times with an H. But, external mix airbrushes usually lead to more work that you have to do with micro-mesh after the paint cures on the body. Are you into micro-mesh polishing car body paint jobs? That's really where it's at for getting the box art high gloss finishes on cars. The goal with the airbrush is just to apply coats that are as non-bumpy as possible. It's a goal that seems to be more easily / more often reached with internal mix airbrushes.
I'm not sure about the tip size of the F. I think it may be too small for gloss model paint if it is like an H 1. H 3's and H 5's are the ones I've used. The H1 has a really hard time pulling the paint up through the siphon tube. So, if you can get an H with a size 3 head for the same price, that has better chances of making it.
