needle size for enamel paints

Looking at the VL on Paasche's web site, I See that it's a siphon feed brush. They typically take slightly longer ot pull paint up because it has to travel farther and is working against gravity. It should not be a significant amount of time though.

It coulr be that your air pressure is too low or your paint is too thick. Either of those would cause it to pull up more slowly.

When I go to apply paint it take a few seconds for the paint to get through the nozzle. I have a dual action air-brush , maybe I need to pull back on the control knob to get more paint flow. I do need practice . Getting the right paint consistency is a hard one to figure out also.

Mike's tha man when it comes to airbrushes... and that's something he told me when I first got my "real" airbrush awhile back. Practice!! It has paid off, even though I have a loooooong way to go! (I should have put even more o's in that word 'long', but I didn't want to get TOO redundant haha)

Just curious though, what do you mean about not being able to get a good volume of paint on the model? What does it do, or not do?

I would use the medium (#3) needle for most paints as it is the best all around.
You can use the fine needle also but it is more problematic.
If you want fine lines you need to lower your pressure, thin your paint more and most importantly......practice!
