Removing enamel paint?

I usually use Castrol Super Clean to remove paint. I have had good luck with it removing enamel and acrylics, but haven't tried it on laquers.

hey dude u could also try brake fluid, ive had good results stripping acryl paint (it strips enamels aswell ive heard)but i would go with music citys advice and use castrol superclean, coz from what ive heard its not as harsh and chemical laden, so its safer to use.. but if u have brake fluid laying ropund like me itll do the job

Is that the cleaner and degreaser?

Yup. Purple bottle, available at most auto supply stores and automotive sections of larger department stores. It works very well. Just pour some out in a container and soak your parts in it. Acrylics are gone in a few minutes enamels in half an hour or so. Stubborn areas might need a little help with an old toothbrush. Once it's done be sure and wash the model off very well with running water and let it dry thoroughly.

Just so happens I have some in the storage room. Thanks I'll give it a try.

just remember to remove all of the chemical, or paint might not stick. use primer.

Also, remember to wear gloves as Super Clean will remove some skin if left on the hands very long. [:0]

easy off oven cleaner works well too!! mikey himself turned me on to it, and it worked great!! spray the subject down good and soppin' wet with easy off, place it in a air tight bag/container for about 3-4 hours, and remove the paint with soapy water and a toothbrush. i've never tried super clean, and hopefully never will have to, but if there is a next time, i may give it a go as lots of people say good things about its stripping capabilities. good luck!! later.
