hey 1337....

do you spray acrylics with your 155? I did it night before last and it seems I have to thin my enamels more than I used to for the 175... guess it is the needle size... I was using MM acryl and thinned it a smidge less than 2:1 (a little more thinner than a 2:1 ratio) and it seems I couldn't cut sharp lines with it.. a little overspray... ::shrug:: guess I am gonna have to relearn my mixtures.. enamels I seem to do fine with... in fact played a little today and got some wicked thin lines.. around the 1/16th mark..

of course I now have to learn to be consistent with them... I'm looking forward to trying this on a 1/72 FW-190 I have stashed... to try the mottled camo on the fuselage with it... gotta get in some more practice first...

oh no! haha the 175 I like too.. and I got plans for it too!

::dreaming of Papa T's All Night Airbrush Tanning studio::

no, what I hadn't learned well yet was fine detailing with the 175, had the large to medium stuff down... but I picked up the 155 and could do it like it was natural.. (and to think this was the brush I originally planned to get) so I think both have their spot with me... mainly because I do some larger scale stuff and the 175 would be great even for some of the finer detail on that... I do plan to keep practicing with it.. if I can ever get the 155 out of my hands haha...

yeah, once you get the compressor and can turn down that pressure you'll be even more amazed... out of the box the first time I was spraying about 2 - 3mm lines.. (1/8 or so) with some practice I was able to get it down to smaller in spots, just not consistently yet... I am actually inspired to practice with this one!!!

good luck on the compressor... you'll love it once you can get the pressure down and play with it up close!

oh yeah! that thing about the quick clean up on the 155 is right... a few squirts of thinner through it, wipe it down, clean the intake and cup and done!!! It's got me interested in using enamels again... not as hard to clean up!

To all those people that kept talking about the Anthem 155... I got curious and after seeing it for a really low price I decided what the hey, I'll get one and try it out.. if it didn't work it was going to become my brother in law's Xmas gift... (he's a paint contracter and wants to start doing sign work)

I like my 175 but LOVE this one!!! I was able to do things with this one I have only halfway gotten down with the 175... fine lines? no prob... the 155 did it.. I sat there and played with it for an hour trying everything I could imagine.

Now when I get to the build on the 1/24 spit I bought I imagine the 175 would be better for the overall fuselage color etc... but for 1/48 and below I think I found my brush... I am thinking in the future once I get some practice in I will try a gravity fed, but this one is fine for now!!!
