Thanks for all the tips but I had to drop them in CSC. They are now drying and waiting to be repainted once more.

all you need is a tiny amout of contaminate to ruin your excellent acrylic finish. try windex as mentioned above for an undo.

Try just spraying it with Windex first. That should wipe out the acrylic but leave your enamel intact. In fact try some Windex on a Q-Tip on the areas that turned white first. That might eliminate the top layer of acrylic and leave the lower depths intact.

The parts were painted over a week ago. I did wait for a whole day to see if it improved but it's still bad. I guess I'll just have to soak them in my CSC bin. Thanks

I agree with Rick, it should have had no affect on the paint. Has the water dried completely? Allow it to sit at least 24 hours and see if things improve. Sometimes acrylic will turn white when it gets wet (like sitting a wet glass on a table covered in acrylic) but once everything dries out the white will go away.

If the paints had cured, plain water should have no effect on the paint. Either the water contained some contaminate, such as alcohol which could react with the acrylic, or the paints had not cured for 24 hours or so.

Need help with clouded painted parts

Okay, I accidently dropped my 1/72 cockpit into a cup of water. There was nothing in the water so I figured it would be okay but when the cockpit dried there was some heavy clouding on the parts! I had painted it with MM enamels and sealed Future, applied a sludge wash and sprayed it with MM Acryl clear flat.
Has anyone else ever seen this before??
