I think what he is after is a guide that takes him by the hand and tells him how to every little step and what materials to buy where at which price.

denegrating others because of your personal frustrations will only guarantee your isolation on this forum............you might wanna consider a personal apology before your best source in modelling information is closed to you........Angry [:(!]

Have to agree with MusicCity and MikeV, relax the search function WILL produce plenty of results if used correctly. I use it often myself to see if a question I got has been asked previously.

[edit]
Just did a search found 500+ posts in the last 2 years with the words "spray" & "booth". Plenty of pics too.
[/edit]

Some of the previous threads about spray-booth went into a LOT of detail and I don't think there is a need to duplicate that information.

Or you could go and splash out a few bucks(~120USD) to buy a ready-made booth by one of the model makers.

Scott is one of the most helpful people on this site so it looks to me like the jack Taped Shut [XX] is you! Treat people with respect and you will get the same in return.

Mike

Wisdom is the right use of knowledge. To know is not to be wise. Many men know a great deal, and are all the greater fools for it. There is no fool so great a fool as a knowing fool. But to know how to use knowledge is to have wisdom. " Charles Spurgeon

OK, buddy, whatever works for you. I'll just ignore your posts from now on, that's easy to do.

There are 180 posts pertaining to spray booths in the archives of this area of the forum. Beside the "Search The Forums" box above, click the word "Advanced". On the advanced search form enter the words "spray booth" in the keywords field. In the drop down list for "Choose Forum" select "Painting and Airbrushing". Change the September, 2004" date to something like January, 2004. Click [SEARCH]. You should get about 9 pages of topics, and there are lots of hints on how to build inexpensive spray booths. I saw one that the builder said cost around $40.

Opening a window and putting a fan in it will help some but not a lot. To completely control the vapors you need a self contained enclosure, an exhaust fan, and a duct hose to direct the vapors outside. A fan generally doesn't have enough suction to control them very well, but it will help some.

Failing that, get a respirator. They are about $30 at Lowes or Home Depot, however you need to remove the organic vapor cartridges when you are not using them and keep them in a sealed bag (I use a large ZipLock bag for mine). Put your box close to the window and use the fan to blow as much out as possible. This will help keep fumes from getting in the rest of the house (it will help, NOT eliminate the problem). The respirator will protect you because you are right in the middle of them.

Use the search field above to search this area of the forum for "Spray Booth". There must be a hundred different ideas on how to do them. You can also look 5 lines down on the topic list (at least right this minute it's five lines down) and there is another topic on spray booths.
