I have a Badger 360 Universal, and LOVE it! I use it with enamels, acrylics, and lacquers... large areas and fine detail.

I highly recommend it. But shop around for th ebest price... I have seen it from $70 to $150...

You would also want to take a look at this thread:

Mind you, it gets rather ...philosophical in the end... Big Smile [:D]

There's lots of good airbrushes out there, but you're already on a good path since you have a compressor and regulator. A moisture trap is also a good insurance policy.

As for brands/models, you'll get lots of different recommendations. My observation has been that any of the better quality brushes will yield very good results after you've had time to practice and learn how to use them. Time and practice will be the most important ingredient.

I don't think you could go wrong with any of the following common airbrushes:

Single action - Paasche H, Badger 350, Badger 200
Dual action - Paasche VL, Badger 150, Badger 155, Badger Crescendo

Iwata also have some very nice airbrushes.

Good luck

Airbrush Purchase Question
Posted by rodc on Wednesday, May 7, 2003 10:48 AM
Hello All,

I am new to the forum and can't believe the wealth of information one can view.

I am something of a novice when using airburshes. I started out with a bottom-line propellant fed Testor's kit about a year ago and find it OK for large area coverage but next to useless for detail work.

I am considering purchasing a Badger Airbrush but I am uncertain as to which one. I want something that is versatile allowing both area coverage, wide and narrow lines, etc and understand that a double action may be the right one. I have a Cable-Porter compressor with regualted airflow to 120psi that I hope to merge with my new brush and that I would probably require a mositure trap.

Any comment on a decent airbrush that could do what I am looking for?? Comments/advice appreciated!
