Alclad question
Posted by pingtang on Friday, October 22, 2004 7:16 AM
Hi everyone,

I've just sprayed a couple of coats of aclad 2 aluminium on my P-47 and the coat looks uneven. What I mean is, some areas are darker than others. I think it is because the level of gloss is higher in the areas that look brighter and flatter in the dark areas. Am I correct in assuming that this is the problem? and will a coat of flat or gloss clear even things up?

Or should I just spray another coat? And if so, how can I make sure the coat goes on smoothly with the same finish in all areas? Am I spraying it wrong?

Thanks in advance for any answers you can give me.

I not sure I know exactly what the problem is, but did you use a primer? If so what primer did you use?

I've pesonally not had a problem with Alclad, as long as you've got a good surface for it to go on you can't go wrong.
