It would work, but the edges would be hard & cleaning off that much Micromask without damaging the paint might be a little tricky On my compressor/AB set up, I spray at about 10psi.

Would applying random blitches of micromask to the olive green under, and then spraying the sandgelb work? or wpuld that spray pattern be too hard? Oh yeah, and i thought around 3-7 psi wopuld be more suited, but I am very inexperienced, so I'll just go with whatever you guys say.Bow [bow]

1-1/2 - 2 psi? You are kidding right?

I'm doing it too but not finished yet. These are my ways
1. I using AB Iwata HP-C with the Automotive Air pump (Yes you can see it in the Garage) 1/4Hp.
2. I mark the spot by Pencil 2H
3. I spray with 1 1/2 - 2 Psi Air pressure
4. Thin the color like milk
5. Pull the AB tricker slowly but when you point to the model it must like a needle edge.
6. Always clean the nozzle cap by old paint brush put it the cleaner which you use and soak in the nozzle cap easily (Don't take the nozzle cap off) because the color always dry in the mouth cap. every few spot.
7. Keep the Air pressure on 1 1/2 - 2 Psi alway
8. I don't know what kind of color that you use. But I always use Gunze Acrylic After finished let them dry for 1 day I clean the camo by cotton Buds with the Ronsonal (Ronsonal is the fuel for Zippon Lighter) because of the Ronsonal is Neptar, The solution of Enamel color but Neptar in Ronsonal don't harmful your model but you health.
9. wipe the spot by cotton bud w/ Ronsonal on the spot every spot
10. You can apply to aircraft with camo.
I always use like that and next time I will show you my model with that ways. I keep my word
P.S. First of all you should try on the paper or un-used model.

I'm not familiar with the Contempo AB. I did the same scheme on a Bf-108 using an Iwata HP-CR. You don't need the finest line for the mottle, at least in 1/48 scale. Just thin your paint & spray at a low pressure with the AB close to the model. Best to practice on a scrap piece before trying it on a finished model. Masking would work, but would be a Censored [censored] job & would give a harder edge. The real bird had the mottle field applied with a spray gun, so the mottle has a very feathered edge. Here's a pic of my Bf-108.

Using the contempo AB, would the fine line nozzle be the best? or would the red camo nozzle be better? Also, would soft masking with scaled up instruction work?

Thanks, Tankmaster

That's the desert scheme of Rlm 79, Sand topsides, RLM 78, Blue undersides, and RLM 80, Olive Green mottle. If you have an AB, the mottle looks best if sprayed freehand. If using a brush, a stippling method will also work OK.
