                        Hi everyone......my problem is every time I use Frisket paper to mask, lots of the paint comes up with it. I even covered with future first, then masked with the Frisket paper. AFter painting, I peeled the Frisket paper up, and half the paint underneath it came up. Now I have to re-paint the colour under the Frisket paper, but am not sure what to use to mask the colour I just finished painting (it will have to be masked with something!!) I was airbrushing with acrylic paint.
                        Thanks for any ideas...

                        Did you wash the mold release and finger oils off your kit before painting? Did you prime the kit? Several topics here say that a lot of the brands of acrylic need a primer to get them to stick to plastic. Try to reduce the tack of the frisket. Stick it to your forehead, or some other oily, non hairy part of your body. That will reduce the tack.

                         I may get so drunk, I have to crawl home. But dammit, I'll crawl like a Marine.

                        Those ARE the keys. I use acrylic almost exclusively, and while I have had it peel up before I have never had it happen if the parts were primed first.

                        Acrylics do not bond to plastic nearly as well as enamel or laquer. Any oil or grease will insure that what litte adhesion they do have is virtually gone. Likewise, while they don't stick to plastic well they stick to enamel primer very well.

                        Yes, I did wash (although it was an old model, it was sanded and washed) and it was primed. I guess the Frisket was too tacky. Next time I will reduce the tack of the paper. I tried painting last night, masking with low-tack tape which I reduced the tack of before painting, and it worked like a charm.
