Moisture Trap
Posted by Anonymous on Friday, November 5, 2004 11:42 PM
Morning all,

This is going to sound like a dumb question, but here it is.

I bought a Paasche moisture trap years ago for my compressor, but never got it installed. I got it at a leather store that was going out f business (hey, $7 was not a bad price).

It consists of the trap; a metal tube with serrated nipples on each end and two nuts.

What it did not come with were instructions.

I am frankly not sure how to install it. Grumpy [|(]

So can anyone help?

Thanks,
-Jeff

I went out to Paasche's web site and found some instruction sheets in PDF form on the URL above. I didn't see a moisture trap by itself that matched what you are describing. They have instructions for a bunch of different compressors. I haven't gone through them all, but I was thinking that perhaps your moisture trap might come with one of the compressors, so you might find it there by poking around.

Can you post a picture of the trap? I guess you have to buy some sort of adaptor for it.

I'll try. Confused [%-)]

As you can see it is a tube with two threaded nuts. The tube, however, is not threaded. Do I cut the line and insert the two ends onto the tube and then force the nuts over them?

hate to sound ignorant, but I truly am about this. Dead [xx(]

Thanks for the help!

I have one of those. You have to splice the air hose line, put one end of the hose on one end of the moister trap and put the other end of the hose on the other end. Put it closer to your airbrush than from the compressor. The side that has the little screw...the release valve...needs to be on the side of the hose that is coming from your compressor. The nutts hold the hose onto the bared ends by the way so put those on the hose before pushing the hose on to the threaded ends of the tub.

Hope that makes sense.

Thanks for the info. I will be working on it soon!
