Quiet Compressor?
Posted by Anonymous on Friday, November 12, 2004 5:36 PM
What is a good, quiet compressor for airbrushing? I have been useing an old Paasche oil-less diaphragm air compressor for the past six years or so that I bought used at a flea market for $15.00. I don't know what model it is, but it works great my only complaint is that it is very loudHeadphones [{(-_-)}]. Does anyone make a quiet compressor? It will be used with a Paasche Millennium, a Badger 350 and a Badger 200.

well there's silentaire 20a, junair, badger million/billion/trillionaire. they are all around 300-1000+ depending on the model. If you just want a somewhat quiet one, try iwata smart jet with auto shut off, which means whenever it's not in use it shuts off and when you use it it turns itself back on. I personally can't stand that feature, so if you were like me, I would just go with the iwata sprint jet (same features, no auto shut off, $160

how is that Millennium? I was kind of drawn to it at first but went for the Badger 175 and then got a 155... just curious because you're the first I've seen who has one...

I really like the Millennium, it is very versital. Depending on the tip and needle used you can do very fine work, or use it to quickly spray large areas. Controls are very easy to use and its very user friendly. I have had mine close to five years now and have never had a problem with it. It was my first and still my only double action airbrush and the one I use most, I have been well pleased with it.

I like my silentaire scorpionII, the auto shut off works VERY smoothly, I never lose pressure.. Quiet, well its not as silent as they brag about it being, but its good, can't beat oil-less double piston... Comes with a regulator..
