Badger 150 help

If you are getting bubbles in the pain jar then most likely the tip is plugged up with dried paint. There should not be any positive pressure in the jar to cause the bubbles, there should be suction.

Take the tip out and soak it in laquer thinner overnight and then blow it clean with some compressed air. Also clean the needle with a Q-tip dipped in laquer thinner, and check to insure that the tube that goes into the bottle is open and that the vent hold in the bottle cap is open.

being you disassembled it, this is probably moot, but make sure the nozzle tip (head, I think badger refers to it in the parts diagram) is down tight, if it is loose it will either not spray paint or allow air bubbles into the paint... just grab the serrated ring at the end of the airbrush and with the front of the AB facing away from you turn it to the left, finger tight....

I feel it is more what scott said, being a used airbrush especially.. but thought I would cover that base as well...

What Tom said made me think of something. The 150 has a Teflon washer between the head and body. The parts list for the 150 shows it as part no. 50-055. Over time that washer will flatten and cause the spray to pulsate. It might also allow air to blow back into the bottle. If cleaning the nozzle and tightening the head doesn't help, you might replace that washer. Also, when you finish spraying for the day loosen the head and that will help prevent it from flattening over time.

thanks for the tips did all you mentioned and it was the needle. it didn't move it was stuck after I freed it up it started spraying paint. now I have anoher problem. I thought that a double action only sprayed paint when you pulled back on the lever. and when you push down just air flows until you pull back. right now it paints as soon as you push down on the lever. any thoughts. thanks

Yep. The needle isn't out far enough. Loosen the chuck on the needle, and push it toward the front until it seats in the nozzle. Don't push it hard, just let it seat on the nozzle. Common problem, and everybody does it at least once.

good to hear your main probs are solved brother! if the needle keeps giving ya trouble you might just need to buy a new one.... they're only about 5 dollars or so... also getting the Badger directions, disassembling and a thorough cleaning might help you out as well. Just to get it all like you like it. You never know how often that other person cleaned it...

A little needle lube also helps those needles slide real easy too... only about 3.50 at an art supply store or online...
