Help, ruined rattle can spray job.

can anyone give me some advice? i've just built a sabre and thought to save mixing paint i would use auto rattle cans for the silver finish. BUT it has sort of eaten into the paint leaving a orange peel finish that is quite deep.hope fully someone will have some tips to help me rcover this model as the cockpit alone took me a week and a half to do. If i can't repair it i might just have to try the airplane junkyard dio iv'e had in the back of my mind for a while. cheers
