Actually, everything I've read indicates that the best thing you can do to extend the shelf life of your paint is to store it in a cool (but not cold), dark location in the original packaging. Thinning the paint with anything other than the exact same vehicle as originally in the bottle will start the degradation process.

Hello
I wanted to know... is it a good idea to thin your paints in the bottle for storage? I just picked up some new testors enamels and remember someone saying that thinning could extend shelf life.. Is it a good idea to do thin it out before using it in any way.. i do brush and airbrush with the same bottles.
