Hey all,
Its rare that I get a chance to go back to the states Im soo excited!! I am also fairly new to fine scale. I knew this day was comming so I have set aside money for supplies. Right now all I have is an air brush, compressor.in the mail,my 1/350 USS Cowpens and thats it. I figure i can get most of ot online but I forget what its like to hold something befoire i buy it.
The biggest thing im hurting on is paint. Flammables cannot be shipped over here which rules out most paint, I am thinking about buyings some paint and tring to find someone whose transferring to Japan to ship them with there houshold goods.
What all do you think I should get while im there?

Ken, you live in Yokosuka, right? Can't find what you need in hobby shops there? I don't know of any specific shops in Yokosuka, but I know there are plenty of great shops that carry anything you could think of in Yokohama (Hobbit and Leonardo are two that come to mind).

and in japan, tamiya and gunze should be cheap

I suggest you buy an iwata since if you're using it in japan, iwata is more common than badger.

Hobbit is right near Yokohama station, and Leonardo is at JR Sakuragicho Station, a few stops from Yokohama. Pick up an issue of Model Art or Hobby Japan, and you'll find tons of shops in Kanagawa!
