Siphon tube vs paint cup?

The Paasche H is a single action, siphon feed whether you use the cup or a bottle. I've used an H model for years & only use it with the cup. Can't remember ever using it with a bottle. I also have an Iwata Revolution which is a dual action gravity feed & it is better for finer detail, at least once you get used to the dual action. Both work well, but it takes practice to do the fancier painting.

Another cool thing with the 360 and the Omni Matrix is that you can turn the airbrush sideways and rotate the cup 90 degrees so that the cup is facing up and the airbrush is on it's side. It comes in handy for tight areas where having the trigger up is kind of in the way or difficult to use.
It doesn't come into play that often but when it does it is pretty cool.

If you don't need much paint then the Omni Nailaire or Badger 100 SG would work great as they have no cup on top.

the Badger 360 is great for that Tweets, you can use it siphon or gravity fed... and the cup is rather small so don't think it will get in your way much... if you like your omni, the 5000 has a smaller cup as well...

Have used siphon feed, side feed, and top mount cups on my airbrushes, and I have found the gravity to be the most useful for me.

Now I need an ab with a smaller cup!
Omni 4000 cup just gets in the way when doing a 109 in 1/48 scale.

On siphon-feed airbrushes I prefer the metal color cup for model painting.
For T-shirt airbrushing I use a 2 oz. plastic bottle.
Like MM said, I prefer a gravity-feed for modeling though.

if you're going to use the paint cup, dont forget it doesn't have a lid and if tilted you can easily dump paint all over your beautifull work, or the floor. It's happened to me a couple of times. OUCH!!!

I always use the gravity feed cup on my AB. It just seems to spray on better, and is easier to get the cocnsistency right and clean up. The only problem is that it is too small and I have to fill up too often. On smal parts this isn't a problem, but on a large kit with the same colour overall, it can be a pain. Same goes for a final flat coat on a large bodied aircraft.

I hook directly to the MM bottle, so cleanup isn't too bad.

I'm really thinking I'll be trying out the cup soon...problem is one of my current projects is a 1/48 SR-71 and I don't want to have to attempt to reload the cup constantly (it's an enormous kit).

I have the Badger 155 and use the paint cup for almost everything but base coat camo... easier to clean up, sprays better and does better detail IMHO...

Yes, I do.
When I used siphon feed I always had problems with glogging and sputtering, with the gravity feed I mix small amounts just prior to using them and found that I get better results.

Also the bottle always got in my way. But than it is really personal preference.
