Part 2 of "I HATE AIRBRUSHES!!!!"
Posted by rockythegoat on Friday, December 10, 2004 4:40 PM
After reviewing all of the excellent posts on airbrushing/airbrushes in response to my original rant of having my AB fail and throwing it into the drywall, I have purchased a Badger 155. To date, although not having used it with paint, only practicing with the airflow and water, appears to be a fine product.Smile [:)]

HOWEVER, if it doesn't work, I will track all of the posters down and put super glue fumes on your canopies!Big Smile [:D] (And if you are an armor guy, don't think you're safe. I'll spray everything with Glosscote. Of course, it will have to be out of a can, since the Censored [censored] AB won't be working!!!!)Laugh [(-D]

Hopefully this weekend I can lay some paint down and get up to speed. Got a lot of GB's to get ready for!!!!Tongue [:P]

Thanks to all who took the time on my original post and provided some advice!

I think you'll like the AB myself... although it was not I who posted any references to airbrushes in the previous thread. Indeed, it seems my nefarious evil twin got on here and did that.. (nervous look at 75% complete SBD)

Once you put some paint in that bad boy and play a little you'll see what I mean! And even if the painting is good, but doesn't make your toes curl, I think the clean up will be all it takes to get ya smilin and whistlin a tune.

Good luck and enjoy!! let us know how ya like it once you get some paint in it!

I, like most people here, I'm sure, both love and hate my airbrush. At times it's the best modeling tool, and at other times it's the worst. But if you can figure it out and get some consistent results, you'll be on the right path. Best of luck with it!!

If it doesn't work then the problem does not lie in the airbrush, but in the hand that is operating it. Wink [;)]

Okay, put some paint down this weekend. After testing on an old kits, painted the hull on a resin Tow boat I'm building.

Excellent results!!!Smile [:)]

Then I used it to put a light overspray on a semi-trailer grain truck. Yet again, way cool!Thumbs Up [tup]

A much better AB then their 200NH. Not even sure why they would keep that one around..... I am officially a convert to the Badger 155 camp!

Other then the airbrush, the only thing I did different from the past, was to not use a screen on the pick-up tube. Don't know if that made much of a difference, but, there was not paint starvation.

So, I no longer HATE airbrushes, but, I will continue to hold them at arms reach!Big Smile [:D]

Glad it all worked out for you. The more you use it, the better you'll get at producing consistant results. You'll grow to really love it I betcha!

They probably keep the 200 around because it's single action and some people prefer single action brushes. It's also cheaper than the 155.

Glad you are happy with your choice. They just get better and better as you use them.

Now that is not true Ryan.

I have 9 and 1 Iwata. Wink [;)]
Actually my Vega 1000 and 2000 were made by Thayer & Chandler before they went out of business, so I really have just 7 Badger airbushes. Big Smile [:D]
