What is your question exactly?
I didn't really understand what you want me to help with, sorry.
Is there a problem with the airbrush in general or just with the Plasticoat paint you mentioned?
You mentioned painting a "body" also. Do you mean "body" as in the human body?

you could use acrylic metallic... not as pretty but I think we could overlook that... Wink [;)]

and back to the original question I think I understood one of them, and yes Acrylic is fine to paint the main color of a car or plane body with... I do it all the time.
